Ginger Root Arts Process for Bronchial Decongestion

I saw this stunning hunk of a ginger root in my lyre teacher's kitchen.

I recalled how ginger root can be rather medicinal when invited to assist us rightly.

I knew that I had treated myself to ginger foot-soaks to generate more warmth in me.

I started praying my teacher Betty would let me borrow it for a day or two, to sketch it.

She said yes!

She planned to plant it soon, so I could use it for my sketching for 2-3 days.

Using soft pastels, I worked to get to know the ginger root. Various inner responses suggested I needed to work further. So I reached for clay.

It took several hours to connect to the clay and then to steadily mirror the ebbs and flows of its forms. My inner intuitive responses informed me of what I needed to know about myself, that had been creating a congestion feeling within me.

Moving the clay on further, this little man appeared!

He was as if running from something.

The emotion of fear had been causing my inner chaos.

Working onwards, an older being came through, carrying the child aloft!

His heart an open vessel of Love, being outpoured. The bronchial situation cleared, until the next opportunity for exploring the Self through the blessing of illness.

Months later after further soul work, another meaning found me :

A thinking that is too innocent and not aware of its shadow and light in balance.

A heart too open to the outside.

Both meanings could live side-by-side as truths.

Two years after this clay process, (when I was inwardly ready to bear the truth), I realised that I had been stuck in an early 14-21 year old story, without realising it, until age 48 (now). At the age of 15, the child's forces of selfhood begin to shine and the adolescent wants to contribute to the world; make changes; let go of their parents a little more and move towards new friends. Before that, the child is busy falling in love with everything; giving themselves away; wanting to touch Life; even being led off the ground into a fleeting sense of wonder, curiosity, and awe.

The congestion I was progressively meeting was from an old fear of turning to face my self - choices and decisions made in my younger days, based on what I knew and understood at the time - were asking to be purified.

Since the human biographical phases are a God-given pattern to whom we are in constant and ongoing relationship with, it can be helpful to perceive where our we are in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood - in the personal timeline, the social timeline pf world evolution, and in the sun cycle year of the seasonal festivals.

However, this connection will not last forever and it is not given but a choice taken up in freedom. Essentially, we are being invited to take up our cross and bear with the recognitions of painful and joyful truths; between which we can begin to know true Love.

This is why I appreciate turning to the Six Soul Exercises for taking our Thinking, Feeling, and Willing in hand - for the sake of the future of how we raise and accompany our children.

Ginger-soaked chest compresses and homeopathic pellets containing highly diluted particles of iron offer "an anxiety-relieving effect on the soul and the body” and in “strengthening the inner relationship to light”. Anthroposophic Medicine.
