Eurythmy Movement Rhythm Course

Testimonial

I felt so relaxed and centred doing the four calming Eurythmy gestures for pregnant women. To my surprise, I went on to birth my baby in a natural way.

The nurses stood around my bed in awe of my strength to say No to their many generous offers of pain-relief interventions.

I just knew what my baby needed from me.

I knew I could trust my own intuition and my senses.

Thank you Nisha.

~ Nayna - a highly sensitive pregnant woman, London

The gentle practice is suitable for anyone, as adjustments will be made, based on our interactions, and your adjusting participation.

In-person experiences include meeting Wednesdays in Rubislaw for ten-Wednesdays.

Please feel free to get in touch, if you would like to host the programme for your workplace Health and Wellbeing.

Thank you.

Eurythmy is a form of gentle movement that Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) developed with Lory Maier-Smits, Marie Steiner-von Sievers and other pioneers.

The word ‘eurythmy’ consists of the prefix "Eu," the Greek term for all-encompassing beauty, the essence of the human, and the word "rhythm," which stands for the creative interaction of polarities.

In eurythmy the movements correspond to individual letters of the alphabet. You can use them to express characteristic sounds, tones and moods, even entire words.

The sounds of the alphabet which are expressed in gesture and movement through the art of eurythmy, are a systematic expression of the interplay of our inner forces.

Depending on how you consciously accompany these movements and experience them internally, you can activate your inner resources and discover new possibilities of expression and use the sequence and gestures for your well-being.

Some of the benefits of practicing the short daily Eurythmy Movements I will guide you to experience :

  • Exuding a rich inner life

  • A higher capacity for empathy

  • Challenges around organising activities, and meeting expectations

  • Decision-making may be difficult

  • Struggles to keep to time arrangements

  • Perfectionism

  • Questioning ones own judgment

  • Strong reactions to criticism

  • Sudden physical and emotional changes

  • Cravings to intake of particular food and drink

  • Grasping for particular things, places, or people

  • Sensitivity to ones own and to others’ moods

  • Struggles to adapt to new circumstances

  • Emotional responses in social situations

  • Feeling uncomfortable in response to light, sounds, sights, touch, or certain physical sensations

  • The need to spend time mostly indoors, or mostly outdoors in Nature

  • Having exciting dreams

  • Having internal monologues

  • Taking time away from screens, tv, movies, or devices for awhile

  • Feeling the need to retreat to a dark, quiet room or favourite place to find some peace

  • Finding great enjoyment in art, music, and human connection

There may be others that you discover.

I look forward to meeting you on the course and hearing about your ongoing discoveries through the Eurythmy practices.
